Social Impact Update - May 2023

Anyone else feel like it was just the end of January and now suddenly its May!

Thought I would post an update and let you know what has been happening at K&Co.

I've been using the quiet candle months to get caught up, I topped up the candles, soaps and diffusers at Whiteleys Retreat.  Both cottages have K&Co soaps and diffusers.  When a family leaves they take home a little bit of Kindness & Co too, smell is so emotive and Lemongrass & Ginger will always remind them of their special time at Whiteleys.

As you know the Cherry Blossom & Plum candle is an #EndoWarrior candle.  Profits from this candle now go to Menstrual Health Projecta project to provide practical support for those suffering with menstrual concerns and conditions to be able to navigate more accurately and comfortably through whatever stage in life.  They have some wonderful toolkits and resources.  Kindness & Co donated £250.00 in April and this will help with printing and distribution costs associated with getting these kids into schools and accessible to all.  A copy of the kit can be found here Menstrual Health Toolkit under 18s.  Check out their website and their story they are a wonderful charity and I'm delighted to be able to help them in a small way.

Things have also been really busy with South Ayrshire School Clothing Bank, Kindness & Co has donated £3000 since April...funds have been used to top up the Hubs within schools.  We have had requests from 8 of the schools that have hubs for sports wear, tights, shoes, trousers, skirts and jumpers.  All these schools now have a selection of all items in various sizes that can be distributed by Guidance Staff & Teachers where needed.  We have also had lots of requests from Social Work/Ukrainian Support Team/South Ayrshire Women's Aid/Befriending Project and some directly from schools.  These uniforms have all be supplied and distributed.  We managed to raise just over £900 walking the Kilt Walk, this was much needed and well timed too!

This summer South Ayrshire School Clothing Bank will be working in partnership with Night Before Christmas Campaign, they are wonderful charity quite a bit bigger than School Clothing Bank so I'm excited to get some help!!

Well I didn't think I had much news but it seems I did...hope you got a cuppa before sitting down to read this!

Oh also if you at any events in the next few weeks look out for some fab raffle prizes, especially at Business Beats Cancer Ayrshire, Business Beats Cancer Edinburgh and Doing It For Daniel ladies lunch.  All wonderful charities I've been lucky enough to meet and work with.

Kindest Regards

Nicola xx
